After a long and cold winter, spring is suddenly here and most welcome. The vineyard is weeks ahead of schedule, and other than a mild cold snap that has been forecasted in mid May, we should have a good year in the vineyard. (A point of interest: we just learned from one of his ancestors that Joseph Chandler grew grapes on the property many years ago.
Those of us at the winery are excited about our spring plans and we hope our guests will be as well. As many of you know, Chandler Hill has become a "destination place" for weddings and corporate events. Due to the volume at these events, we will be closing at 5:00 pm on many upcoming Friday and Saturday evenings. In order to accommodate more of our guests, we are extending our weekday hours to 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. We hope that you'll take advantage of the new hours and join us for a light dinner, wine and our fabulous sunsets. In addition, we are planning special themed dinners with live music on the Friday evenings that we aren't closed for a private event. Our website has an updated event and music schedule and we will continue to notify you via email of individual upcoming events.
As for music at the winery, we're always striving to bring out a variety of talented musicians that all can enjoy. Our new bandstand will be completed very soon and will allow for more seating on the deck.
Two happenings that we're especially excited about are the introduction of the Chandler Hill Farmers Market and the Memorial Day Celebration that we're hosting. The Farmer's Market will begin on Sunday, May 2nd from 12-4. For more information check our website.
Finally, I would like to invite everyone to join us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. We will be supporting our troops as well as the USO and Fisher House. Join Jamie Allman and the 97.1 Morning Team for a full day of BBQ, music, and celebration. A $5.00 per person cover at the gate will go directly to the USO and Fisher House.
We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming newcomers to the winery in the coming season.
