Dear Friends:
Thank you to all who've participated in our "30 Days of PD Awareness" Campaign. Many of you have returned the "In April, I will help by..." volunteer forms that we enclosed in your April print newsletter. Thank you! Many others have sent a $30 donation to help us provide education and screening to folks who may be living with undiagnosed PD. Thank you! Others are following our "30 Days of PD Awareness" on Facebook (more information later in this newsletter). Thank you!
With the help of Karen deGraaf, we have received proclamations from multiple government leaders declaring that April is Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month in their locality. These include:
- New Albany, IN, proclamation issued by Mayor Douglas B. England
- Jeffersonville, IN, proclamation issued by Mayor Thomas R. Galligan
- Commonwealth of Kentucky, proclamation issued by Governor Steven L. Beshear
- Louisville, KY, proclamation issued by Mayor Jerry Abramson
- Shelbyville, KY, proclamation issued by Mayor Thomas L. Hardesty
- Bardstown, KY, proclamation issued by Mayor Richard Heaton
No matter how you help, we appreciate you joining us in raising awareness of PD this month. Together, we are making a difference in lives across Kentucky and Indiana. Thank you! If you did not receive an April print newsletter, please let us know by email.
Finally, I'd like to encourage you to help us by "GoodSearching".
GoodSearch
will donate a $1 for every toolbar that is downloaded
between Tuesday, April 6th at 9am EST and Friday. April 9th at 9am EST up to $5,000!! With the GoodSearch Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana toolbar - once added to
IE or Firefox, each time you shop at more than 1,300 stores (from Amazon
to Zazzle!) a percentage of your purchase will automatically be donated
to Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana - at no cost to you (and you
may even save money as the toolbar provides coupons and deals as
well!). The toolbar also has a search box and each time you search the
Internet, about a penny is donated to Parkinson Support Center of
Kentuckiana.
Wishing you well this week,
Jinn Fuller Renfro
