Dear Friends:
We're trying something new: a weekly newsletter with information that may be of interest to our friends who are either living with Parkinson's Disease or who care passionately about the work of PSCKY in the community.
Each week, I'll include a few items of interest to our PD community, a reminder list of upcoming PSCKY events and something of interest from the web.
If you do not want to receive this weekly newsletter, please unsubscribe using the links below. If you have news, ideas or suggestions, please feel free to email me at Support@pscky.org.

LSVT BIG THERAPY
For those who attended the fantastic seminar on Sunday, 19 July on LSVT BIG and who wish to schedule BIG therapy, please call outpatient scheduling at Frazier Rehab Institute: 502.582.7486 and ask for Gaye or Joette. We are particularly grateful for Kathy Panther's work in coordinating LSVT BIG certification for so many therapists in the Louisville area! For more information about LSVT BIG, please visit www.LSVTglobal.com. To see a great article in The Courier Journal about Sunday's workshop, including PSCKY's role in making this training possible for therapists from Southern Indiana, metro-Louisville and central Kentucky, click here! |

CoQ10 BUYING CLUB
If you are interested being part of a CoQ10 buying club, please let us know by calling 502.426.0888 or emailing jinn@pscky.org. We are aware that many people in the community are taking CoQ10, but find it very expensive. PSCKY is willing to serve as the coordinator for a community buying club. We would collect your orders and receive a single shipment to our offices for distribution. This would yield at LEAST a 25% monthly savings per person (we may be able to negotiated additional savings based on the number of people willing to commit to a buying club). *Be sure to discuss with your doctor before trying CoQ10.* For more info about Vitaline products, visit here. |

COOL PLACES ON THE WEB
Clinical trials are important. There are many reasons to consider participating in a clinical trial. Many people who take part in studies believe that doing so will benefit themselves and others now or in the future. The advances in what is known about PD and medications that you may take now are available only because people before you volunteered to participate in clinical trials. Another reason to consider participation is the access it affords to leading healthcare professionals and potentially useful new therapies that are usually free of charge and are provided under high standards of care.
Joining a clinical trial can also increase your knowledge and understanding of PD and how it specifically affects you. Many people emerge reporting that they received good quality care and that the overall experience was beneficial. Visit PD Trials to find up-to-date information on Parkinson's disease trials currently enrolling participants in the U.S. and Canada. |
