Greetings!

I am told that my Grandma Hochstein always loved butterflies.  I really don't know why, but I can come to my own conclusions based on what I do know about her.  She gardened.  Her cucumbers magically turned into dill pickles.  Tart rhubarb was made into the perfectly tart, with just the slightest sweet, jam.  All my adult life I have been searching for that very dill pickle and that very rhubarb jam.  I am still searching.

I imagine Grandma conversing with butterflies, given the many hours spent in her garden.  The gazing kind of conversing not the talking kind.  They probably thanked her for providing them with their nursery and ample food supply.  As with the life cycle of butterflies, gardening involves the planting of seeds, cultivating of soil, feeding and watering of life, providing of warmth and finally harvesting in order to provide nourishment.  The cycle begins anew come next spring.

Everything Grandma Hochstein, is represented on a piece of personal artwork that I carry on my person at all times.  Its my way of carrying the essence of her with me at all times.

I do realize that we are not creating something from nothing, but rather putting one life form into a different frames, so instead of coming up with a clever quote right now, I will quote some smart and famous people. (am not saying that I'm dumb and I would take famous for the right reason)

"Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.." - Thoreau

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." - Maya Angelou

You see when I first conceived of this thing I call "Modem B*a*g Ladies" I couldn't explain exactly what it was.  Its been tucked inside a cocoon, learning to trust the darkness, as it could not see the beauty with seeing eyes.  I had to see the beauty with eyes of faith and intuition.  I have struggled with this lesson (greatly).

You see a butterfly doesn't emerge, busting "on the scene" from its cocoon.  It emerges from a small opening.  An opening that lets in just enough light to lead it out, providing just enough courage.

I feel this "thing" I call Modern B*a*g Ladies has found that little opening, from which to emerge.  The light is allowing the eyes to catch a glimpse.  The glimpse of beautiful things to come.

So this week I am sharing some glimpses of light that will bring about this emerging butterfly.
Spread Joy. Shred Fear. Have Fun.

This process of death and rebirth is so natural. Oh how we resist it.  Trust the intuition that rests in the darkness of your cocoon.  Emerge slowly always ready for the process to begin again.

The fuel of knowing your purpose is the most powerful thing I have ever felt.  It's the ultimate "B" behind any "A" and "G".  Modern B*a*g Ladies' Mission has found a purpose that brings me to a realization that the B*a*g is pretty much all fluff unless I can empower women to take "A"ction.

Terry Grahl, Founder and President of Enchanted Makeovers was probably one of the first to comment on my blog months ago.  Oh boy, was I excited, so of course I had to go see who this person was.  As I clicked I was led to a website that felt like home.  It was personal, inviting, real and enchanting all at the same time.  I remember I tried to send her an email through the "contact me" link on her website, but something wasn't working on the site.  I could not find her email address either.  I remember trying it several times, but finally gave up.

Time passed and having moved my attention away from my home staging business, my office was no longer an office but a storage room for home accessories.  My husband found this concerning, but I knew the items would find a rightful home someday soon.  Perhaps there were single mothers in my area that couldn't afford to decorate their homes.  I had good intention of contacting somebody who would connect me with these single mothers.

Months later, browsing my usual Ladies Who Launch daily tip, I came upon Terry's name and website again.  She had made a comment.  I immediately went to her website to find that she was no longer Terry's Enchanted Cottage, award winning interior designer who took personal clients.  She had tranformed into Enchanted Makeovers, an organization that transforms shelters for women and children into heartwarming havens.

I emailed (thank goodness it work this time)  Terry and suggested that I had some very nice accessories I thought she would be needing.  She emailed back and we connected by phone.  I knew when I talked to her that night that going to Michigan was in my future.  We said goodbye and agreed to keep in touch.

I am grateful for trusting my intuition.  It takes practice listening patiently, waiting for that little opening to appear rather than punching a huge hole by thinking you know all the answers.

I am now the editor (it kind of sounds fancy now that I'm writing this) of the Enchanted Makeover Newsletter and we are giving Project Traveling Sanctuary a new life and purpose, ''Sending Hope, Faith And Love To Women And Children Living In Shelters Across The Country.''

All of this reminds me that Modern B*a*g Ladies isn't a exclusive sisterhood.  It is an inclusive sisterhood.  Every woman deserves fuel for their beliefs, enough fuel to take action.  Every woman deserves to go to their dreams.

When I met Terry I realized that many of us are afraid to go or unware of where to go, to find our Believe Act Go.  We need to help each other no matter circumstances.  We all have an "A"ction Project with our name on it.  Let's help and encourage each other to find and act.  Sometimes that means leading by example.

Terry is an award-winning interior decorator whose mission is to give hope to 'at risk' women and children. transforming the shelters that save people's lives into beautiful sanctuaries that heal their spirit.

I will share more as projects develop further.  Go to the website and be inspired.  www.enchantedmakeovers.org.
