Today I didn't vote for a man. Today I didn't vote for a women. Today I didn't vote for a political party.
Yes, today I DID vote!! Today when I went to the polls I voted for myself. Sounds selfish doesn't it, but how could my vote only be for the power of one man. I voted to allow a leader to fuel the Belief in myself and Belief in this country and the world, enough that I will take Action.
We must Go along in our Traveling Sanctuaries, weaving in and out of speedy traffic when necessary, but still courageous enough to take the off ramp for rest and fuel.
"She who rides a tiger is afraid to dismount" - Proverb
As a child we traveled to my grandparent's farm for most holidays. It was a 7 hour trip. I am certain that my parents wanted to beat us after the second whiny, "Are we there yet?" was uttered. Yet today that little whiny voice still echoes in my head, "Have I arrived Yet?" I guess I'm like that lady on the tiger. Duh! The fuel gauge is on E and just missed my "Purpose and Happiness Exit".
Our Traveling Sanctuaries have many speeds, many travel guides, many radio stations and the reflection from the rear view mirror is just that a reflection, not reality. Easy on the gas when going in reverse, the reflection is there help us avoid our past blunders, not crash into them.
The bumper sticker on your Traveling Sanctuary isn't the most important thing. The most important thing is that you can take a part of Barack Obama's message to fuel you enough to vote for yourself. As you spread joy, shred fear and have fun, you will fuel others. It is the most environmentally friendly and abundant renewable fuel on this planet.
In a world that seems so turbulent, there is much hope and much good.
