You're in training everyday and you have earned a few gold medals along the way yourself.
Ok, this is going to sound corny but here it goes, "Everyone's a winner. Not everyone can see it in themselves."
Michael Phelps has inspired many and if you can not see yourself in Michael Phelps I think you should take another look. They speak briefly about his childhood with an absent father, but I am sure he has had many more struggles we will never know.
These past days are only but a short period of his life. I'm sure he has a few more great races in him, but he will likely become a husband, father, coach, mentor, business owner etc. You see this was part of his training, as everyday is a part of your training. Even if you don't feel like a winner today, remember you didn't get where you are today by losing your way here. Win a few. Lose a few. It's part of your training.
