| FOR HEALTHY LIVING | | |
Last month we introduced you to the first of our three areas of focus: For Youth Development. This month we'd like to share our second area of focus: For Healthy Living.
Behind "For Healthy Living" is the fact that across the nation and right here in Virginia, the Y is a leading voice on health and well-being. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, millions of youth, adults and families receive the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.

| HEALTHY FAMILY PROGRAMS | | |
Thanks to the continued support from the Obici Healthcare Foundation, we will offer several FREE programs designed to help you and your family lead healthier lives. Beginning in November we are offering ongoing programs designed to support children, teens, and adults who want more help in their efforts to attain and maintain healthy weight through exercise and nutrition.
Fit For Life returns and is available to anyone who would like additional help with their weight loss and management. We will assess your current condition, help you set nutrition goals, and customize a work-out to meet your needs. Special nutrition programs will be offered during the holiday season. Check at the Welcome Center for the schedule.
Youth Watch is on the move. Watch for increased physical activities and nutrition games during the time your child is in Youth Watch.

| YOUTH SUPER SPORTS - BASKETBALL | | |
What is Y Super Sports? Y Super Sports is the YMCA's new progressive program that combines the philosophy of past YMCA sports, Everyone Plays - Everyone Wins, with new program concepts. Practices are based on the "games approach" where players learn skills and tactics by playing games during each practice session.
Can children of all sports abilities play? The goal of the program is that all youth who have a desire to play a sport can find a place on a YMCA team. Children of all skill and development levels are welcome.
How many practices and games? 1 game and 1 practice are held each week.
Registration starts Nov. 1st with the season starting in January. Register at the Welcome Center or online by clicking here.
