| FESTIVAL OF TREES | |
|
Clear your calendar for Saturday, November 20th. You will not want to miss the Festival of Trees taking place at the Smithfield Center from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. The fun filled event will include hors d'oeuvres, beverages, music, and a silent as well as a live auction.
Why do we have the Festival of Trees? Program fees do not cover the full cost of our vital community programs. Our Strong Communities scholarship program provides financial assistance so that no individual is denied a chance to participate because of inability to pay. Offering opportunities to those who might overwise be unable to enroll helps make your community a better place to live and work.
Tickets are available at the YMCA. Come out and have a great evening, support your YMCA as we support our community.

| FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT | |
|
Last month we introduced you to some exciting changes happening here at the Y. We told you about our three areas of focus: For Youth Development, For Healthy Living and For Social Responsibility. Because you are an important part of our organization, we want to share with you the meaning behind each of the focus areas.
Behind "For Youth Development" is our belief that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. At the Y, children and teens learn positive values and behaviors and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
Next month: FOR HEALTHY LIVING
