Christmas in July
Visit Santa at the Luter Family YMCA July 26th! Join us in the lobby for snow cones, music, and fun on Monday, July 26th. Don't forget your camera for pictures with Santa. Thank you for your consideration of making a donation at that time to the Strong Communities Campaign. Military Family Outreach
The YMCA, partnered with the Department of Defense, now offers free YMCA memberships to eligible military families. The commitment and sacrifice they make for our country is why we are proud to help.
Please pass this along to your military friends, family, and neighbors. They can call the Welcome Center at 365-4060 or go online to Military One Source for more information. With your help identifying military families, we can help make a difference:
" We have two daughters ages 10 and 5. The girls have loved every minute at the Y. It has been tough on them to have their dad gone. Having activities to look forward to at the Y has made these last 8 months easier to get through. I have seen their self-esteem improve and they also stay healthier because of the exercise. As for myself - I am at the Y 3 to 4 times a week. I am training for a half-marathon. I would NOT be able to do it without my membership at the Y. Not only am I losing weight but I feel better and it keeps me sane. Words cannot express how much our free family membership has meant to us this year of deployment." - Military Outreach Participant |
Coming Soon! Youth Super Sports - Building Winners for Life
At the YMCA, youth sports is as much about building character as it is about learning sports skills.
Youth Super Sports is the YMCA's new progressive youth sports program that combines the marvelous philosophy of past YMCA youth sports programs with new program concepts. Children learn character values as well as sports skills and tactics by incorporating fun and creative games during every practice. Our "games approach" sessions during each practice are designed to better prepare players for competitions.
There are 3 components to YMCA Super Sports:
YMCA Rookies
Developmental program that teaches young players basic skills and strategies of the sport while incorporating our character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
YMCA Winners
Competitive, unique, values-based sports program for older boys and girls that develops skills and tactics while keeping our character values in play.
YMCA Champions
Designed to motivate youngsters to strive for excellence. It is an innovative, challenging awards program for youth participating in YMCA Winners.
The 7 pillars of Youth Super Sports:
Pillar 1 - Everyone Plays
Pillar 2 - Safety First
Pillar 3 - Fair Play
Pillar 4 - Positive Competition
Pillar 5 - Family Involvement
Pillar 6 - Sport for All
Pillar 7 - Sport for Fun
YMCA Youth Super Sports at the Luter Family YMCA include Indoor Futsal Soccer and Basketball.
