Dear ,
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness". ( 2 Corinthians 12:8-9a)
I don't know about you but for me, it is very easy to have a personal pity party whenever things aren't going exactly as I would like them to. Sales are down, the kids haven't been over for a while, the test results came back with less than expected news, there is yet another funny noise coming from under the car, by head hurts, my back hurts, I hurt all over, etc.,.....
Of course my prayer is, "Oh God, please, please, please take these problems away from me!" Isn't yours?
Last Sunday our associate pastor shared a message with us that really struck home. Even Paul had problems he wanted the Lord to take care of but the Lord's answer was "My Grace is sufficient for you," and then he goes on to say, "for My Power is made perfect in weakness". Wow!, how often have you thought about that? Does this mean that in my weakness, Christ is more. In my weakness His power is made perfect. In my weakness, others can better see Christ who lives in me.
It is becoming clearer to me that God allows problems into my life so that I may be kept humble. If everything were always perfect, it would be my tendency to boast of my accomplishments, my success, my pious, righteous living. But everything isn't perfect. I fall down, I fail, I sometimes hurt, emotionally and/or physically; my business requires hard work and long hours; things aren't always as I would like them. But through these trials, God is faithful; He is always there to comfort, to encourage, to forgive and to build up. And it is through my condition of weakness that He is glorified. His Glory shines through best when I am least. He fills me completely when I am completely empty.

He hears our humble cry and proves again....His Strength is Perfect when our strength is gone. He'll carry us when we can't carry on. Please Lord, let me keep this in mind when I am down, let me find joy in knowing that when I am weak, you are strong!
