Are you living under the burden of guilt?
It is important for us to be free of guilt. Guilt can leave us physically, emotionally and spiritually drained. The best way to avoid guilt is to always do what is right.
However, when we make bad decisions and don't do what is right we first need to confess our sin to God with a pentinent heart and desire to set things right. When we seek God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ He is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sin. We are set free through His love and forgiveness.
Second, seek forgiveness from those you have wronged. Make restitution.
Third, forgive yourself. Many people struggle with this, but you should recognize that when God has forgiven you, you can forgive yourself.
Fourth, don't confuse forgiveness with the removal of consequences. God forgives immediately, but you have to deal with the consequences of your sin. Just as there are consequences for disregarding natural laws (If you step off a cliff you will fall), there are consequences for breaking moral and spiritual laws.
The good news is that you can be free of guilt and God will walk beside you when you seek to get things right.
