Christ is Born! Let all the World Proclaim!! Christ is Born, things will never be the same! On that night in Bethlehem, I wonder if those who witnessed the birth of Jesus would have imagined the impact that one tiny babe would have on the world? I'm sure that they were puzzled and amazed, in addition to being fearful when the heavens exploded with the proclamation that a Savior, Christ the Lord, had been born.
I can't imagine what I would do if the heavens suddenly exploded with a multitude of Angels, praising God and saying "Peace on Earth, goodwill to men". Even if they did say "Fear Not". But the shepherds knew exactly what to do - they went to find the baby that the Angels proclaimed and then they spread the news. Because of Jesus the world is changed forever. The influence Jesus on the lives of people has never been surpassed. No other great leader has inspired so many positive changes in the lives of his followers. People who encounter the risen Christ are totally transformed. Their outlook on life is altered forever. Staying true to their faith, they do not hesitate to face hardship, persecution and even death. Many devote their lives to serving others, minimizing their own needs and desires. We aren't so much different than those shepherds so long ago. Sure we may not tend sheep by night on the hillside, but we have the same need and longing for a Savior to redeem us. We have the same fears, doubts, relationships, responsibilities as they, and also have the same abilities to respond. The choice of how we respond is up to each of us.
How do you respond to the Good News this Christmas? Are you fearful, puzzled or amazed that God would send a gift so precious as Jesus? Are you motivated to seek Him and then share Him with others?
Turn your eyes and ears toward Heaven today and listen for the proclamation!
"Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests!"
Go and find Him, then tell everyone!

Some Parting Fun....

On Christmas Eve, the young man thought it would be nice to buy his wife a little gift for the next day. Always short of money, he thought long and hard about what that present might be.
Unable to decide, he entered the department store and in the cosmetics section he asked the girl, 'How about some perfume?'
She showed him a bottle costing $150.00.
'Too expensive,' muttered the man
.
The young lady returned with a smaller bottle for $50.00.
'Oh dear,' he groused, 'still far too much.'
Growing rather annoyed at the gentleman's attitude, the sales girl brought out a tiny $10.00 bottle and offered it to him.
The young husband became really irritated, 'What I mean', he whined, 'is I'd like to see something really cheap.'
So the sales girl handed him a mirror.
It's the thought that counts, right guys?
