Logos Christian Bookstore Newsletter

Dear ,

"Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."

Years ago I learned a simple little acronym "ACTS" to use as a guideline when  praying.

A - Adoration.   Adoration for the God of creation, master of the universe, who is worthy of our honor and praise.   We should humble ourselves before him and offer our worship for who He is.

C - Confession.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9.  I remember as a child that it seemed my dad had eyes in the back of his head!  He knew when I was up to something and there was no need trying to hide it.   How true that is with our heavenly father!  He already knows your heart, confess it to Him and find sweet refreshment in repentance.

T - Thanksgiving.  God's word tells us we are to pray with an attitude of thanksgiving.  We want to remember and give thanks for all the blessings he gives and especially for the most important of all, the salvation we received through the sacrifice of Christ, and the eternal life that He gives us.  By praying with an attitude of thanksgiving you will have a more enjoyable, and contented life.

S - Supplication.  Finally, bring your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.  Make your requests known to God, knowing that He will hear your requests and act on your behalf.   With an attitude of adoration, repentance, and thanksgiving share your heart with God and He will always provide what is best.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -  Philippians 4:6-7

Blessings,

This "Bible Time Line" e-Chart compares Bible history and world history side by side in beautiful full-color. Time line covers the lives of key Bible characters Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. This sample timeline also gives fascinating comparisons and includes photos of important archaeological finds.

The Rose Book of Bible & Christian History Time Lines reveals 6000 years of history from Adam to today!   The 20-foot time line includes hundreds of historical facts, key people, and important dates from Bible and Christian history, alongside key events and people from world and Middle Eastern history. Called "spectacular," this fantastic resource can be read like a book or slipped out of its binding and unfolded 20 feet to display on a wall in a classroom or home. Includes dozens of colorful illustrations and photographs.

The 20-foot fold-out chart is a must-have resource for pastors, teachers, and students of the Bible. The Rose Book of Bible & Christian History Time Lines offers a birds-eye view of history showing Christian historical events unfolding next to their world history counterparts. It includes vast spans of Israel's history. It's easy to see how biblical history relates to events happening throughout the Middle East and around the world; for example:

  • Jonah lived during the time of the first recorded Olympic games, 776 BC
  • Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried Pompeii during the Apostle John's lifetime
  • Plutarch the Greek historian was born AD 46, the same year that followers of Christ were first called "Christians" in Antioch
  • The Huns invaded Europe in 360, the same year that books replaced scrolls

This indispensable Bible study tool is a great addition for any church resource library, Christian school, or homeschoolers classroom. The Rose Book of Bible & Christian History Time Lines fold-out chart uses nine different keys to indicate these special Bible time line features:

  • Bible Development
  • Key Persons
  • Bible History
  • King of Israel
  • King of Judah
  • Key events

The Bible history timeline is divided into two eras:

  • Genesis to Revelation: 2200 BC to AD 100
  • Life of Jesus to Modern Day: AD 1 to Present

After the ascension of Jesus, the Bible history time line covers the expansion of Christianity. This the best Bible time line available today. If you compare it to other Bible time line books you will find that it covers more years (Creation to modern day), it includes more church history events and people than any other time line book. The Rose Book of Bible and Christian History Time Lines has more than 300 events in Church history.

Some Parting Fun....
A Child's Point of View....

The story of Adam and Eve was being carefully explained in the children's Sunday School class. Following the story, the children were asked to draw some picture that would illustrate the story.

Little Bobby was most interested and drew a picture of a car with three people in it. In the front seat, behind the wheel was a man and in the back seat, a man and a woman.

The teacher was at a loss to understand how this illustrated the lesson of Adam and Eve.

But little Bobby was prompt with his explanation.

"Why, this is God driving Adam and Eve out of the garden!"
