Dear ,

The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

One Sunday, a hippie with his long stringy hair and raggedy clothes and bare feet decided to go to church. He walked in amongst all the folks in their Sunday "go to meet'n" duds and carefully brushed hair and shiny shoes. He walked in hoping to find a seat but nobody sitting on the aisle side would scoot over to let him in on their pew. Finally, he came to the front of the church and just sat down on the floor!

The people didn't know what to do. How could they get this horribly dressed and smelly person to leave peacefully? Then they saw the old deacon, one of the most respected member of the church in his immaculate 3 piece suit walking towards the hippie.

"Good, the old deacon will show this guy out", the people thought. However, when the deacon came to the hippie, he shook his hand, welcomed him to the church, and sat on the floor next to him for the rest of the service. Nobody would dare try to evict the hippie now.

It may not be a hippie but what about a single mom with messy kids, or perhaps an older person with health issues?  Everyday we have the opportunity to meet and serve others. May God help us to reflect the Spirit of Christ like the old deacon in the story above.

Blessings,
Steve

Kingsbury's Latest is Here!

Learning - Author Karen Kingsbury
Order Online

Learning, book two in The Bailey Flanigan series, picks up where Leaving ended. Bailey Flanigan and Cody Coleman are not only separated by physical distance, they are also faced with great emotional distance. Bailey grows closer to her dream to be an actress and dancer in New York, while Cody coaches a small high school football team ... on and off the field. But neither feels complete without the chance to share their dreams with one other.

Can distance truly make the heart grow fonder? Or will Cody learn to turn to others to share in his happiness? And when tragedy strikes? Who will be there to provide comfort in the face of loss?

As Cody's past catches up with him, he must learn to reach out for help or risk withdrawing permanently inside himself. Both Bailey and Cody find themselves learning significant life lessons in this poignant love story, featuring members from Karen Kingsbury's popular Baxter family.

 Some Parting Fun....

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. So he put a note under the windshield wiper that read:

"I have circled the block 100 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES."

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note.

"I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION."
