I am pleased to announce the official opening of our new facility Davis Flight Support at Yolo County Airport (2Q3). In one simple visit to this FBO, you will quickly experience the level of our enthusiasm and commitment to investment and expansion of both our aviation lines of businesses. While facilities have been the focus at Davis Flight Support, business basics are the strategies at Woodland Aviation. Since acquisition, our initiatives at Woodland Aviation have been focused on our customers, hiring, training, and marketing. We are expanding our turboprop and jet maintenance service lines of business; the aviation community will soon see exciting information and announcements regarding further expansion in this important line of business. As always, thank you for your business and support. |

BRS Whole Airframe Parachutes for Cessna AircraftAn event regarding the lack of parachutes for hang gliding led Boris Popov to invent the
whole-aircraft parachute system and the Ballistic Recovery Systems
(BRS) in 1980. In 1993, the FAA granted approval to install a parachute on a certified aircraft; since then, they've become synonymous with safety. BRS has sold more than 25,000 of its parachute systems and has saved more than 199 lives. In 2004, the FAA and EASA both certified a BRS parachute system for the Cessna 182 to go along with the 172 certification. The companies' products are sold worldwide. An excerpt from the Ballistic Recovery Systems (BRS) website describes it best:
"The BRS for Cessna 172s uses the exact same canopy and rocket motor as
that used on the Cirrus SR22. It is neatly packaged in the far side of
the baggage area aimed out the right half or the rear window. BRS' patented speed-sensing Slider collar controls how
fast the chute actually opens. If the aircraft's momentum would create
unacceptable stresses, the slider retards the canopy's inflation
- letting it first act something like a sea anchor - slowing the plane
down as the canopy continues to open. This unique Slider technology
assures the fastest overall activation-to-full-deployment-time
possible, over the widest speed range possible, without exceeding
aircraft load limits." For a FAQ regarding installation on a Cessna 182, please view HERE. Details on installation for your 172 or 182, contact Shawn Matthies at Woodland Aviation, or call: 800-442-1333. The BRS website has videos showing the parachute in action for several aircraft models. The parachute offers an added level of safety for your passengers in older aircraft. - J.Pilot

Sold: 2007 G58 Baron
Andy delivered to Scott in Oregon a new 2007 Baron. Scott originally purchased a Bonanza from WA for business use; his operations have expanded, and so has the need for a new aircraft! Scott's growing business takes him from Oregon to Arizona, and Washington - and everywhere in between - so the Baron's weather capabilities and second engine fit Scott's needs perfectly. Congratulations Scott!

Sold: 2006 G36 Bonanza Cameron and Christy, both pilots residing in Hermosa Beach, CA, are now the proud owners of a 2006 G36 Bonanza. Their new Bonanza allows them the freedom to fly to their various business destinations, based in the Western U.S. Previous to the Bonanza, they owned a Cessna 182. Congratulations to both Christy and Cameron!

406 ELT For Mexico and Canada Thinking of flying Internationally? Don't forget about your ELT! The 406-MHz ELT requirement would bring Mexico in line with
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Canada is
considering implementing a similar requirement; AOPA has requested an exemption from the ELT mandate in Canada for
U.S. registered aircraft. For more info, call Mike P at Woodland Aviation: 800-442-1333.

Rosen VisorsIf final for your runway seems more into the sun than the wind, consider upgrading to Rosen Sunvisors. Multi-positionable; STC'd for almost every certified aircraft, Rosen Sunvisors block the heat, glare and 99 percent of harmful UV rays (which also cuts down on eye fatique). Contact Shawn for info HERE.
