| Save on Avionics Upgrades with The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008*
|
|
This Act was signed into law by President Bush on Feb. 13, 2008.
|
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 can provide a substantial tax depreciation for avionics installations in 2008 by utilizing the Special Expensing Election (Section 179). The Special Expensing Election (Section 179) offers qualified taxpayers
who invest less than $1,050,00 in new or used capital assets in 2008 up to $250,000 in an immediate tax deduction.*
There are several qualifying factors, limitations, and criteria; consult with your financial advisor for details and guidance. If you've been thinking of upgrading the avionics in your business aircraft, this could be your opportunity!
Woodland Aviation is an authorized dealer and installer for many avionics manufacturers in addition to those premiered below. We will highlight avionics upgrades specific to King Air C90's in a later emailer. Contact Mike for a more thorough listing: 800-442-1333.

Woodland Aviation is booking orders for the new and highly acclaimed Aspen Avionics Evolution package. Aspen Avionics Evolution offers a simple and affordable alternative for upgrading round gauge panels to glass.
Aspen Avionics announced on Friday, March 14th, 2008,
the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted Technical Standard
Order (TSO) Authorization for the Evolution Pilot and Pro Primary
Flight Displays (PFDs). Aspen will begin shipping EFD1000 PFD systems to Woodland Aviation this spring. The Aspen Avionics EFD1000 is a compact, light weight, and low cost Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS) with an integrated Air Data Attitude Heading Reference System (ADAHRS), designed specifically for small general aviation aircraft. The complete EFD1000 system consists of a panel mounted display assembly, a configuration module, a remote sensor module, and an optional analog converter unit. There are three versions of the MFD, and one version of the PFD planned. For a System Brochure in PDF format, click HERE.

A typical installation of the EFD1000 is 40 hours, but older aircraft may take longer due to deciphering quirky wiring dynamics. A convenient way to schedule an Aspen Avionics upgrade is in conjunction with your annual. A personalized quote from Mike at Woodland Aviation results in a solid upgrade plan for both time and price, along with the infamous Woodland Aviation installation guarantee. There's an Aspen Avionics upgrade that will fit within your budget; find out today by calling Mike at Woodland Aviation: 800-442-1333.

Garmin G600 Retrofit Offers High End Capabilities
|
|
Upgrade your panel with the hottest EFIS solutions hitting the market with Woodland Aviation's expertise.
|
The Garmin G600 is designed to replace the standard six-pack of instruments. The system combines primary flight instrumentation, navigational information, and optional external system. These are displayed on dual 6.5 inch color screens. The G600 system is composed of LRU's (line replaceable units), offering a modular design and can be installed in a separate avionics bay if desired.
The G600 requires at least one WAAS/GPS navigator, but can support two. Required standby instruments include an independent attitude indicator, airspeed indicator, and altimeter; in many cases the existing instruments can be retained for this purpose. Options such as ChartView, Altitude Preselect, Traffic Sensor, XM Satellite data link, and ADF make the G600 even more robust. Call Mike for more info: 800-442-1333

Garmin GNS 430W and 530W, WAAS, and G1000 SVT Upgrades
|
|
Ask your financial advisor about the Economic Stimulus Act and if your situation qualifies for a Section 179 - big depreciation!
|
The Garmin G1000 SVT is the recent buzz technology hitting the airspace. SVT stands for Synthetic Vision Technology, which presents a 3D depiction of terrain, obstacles, and traffic on the Primary Flight Display (PFD). Many new aircraft will be offering SVT as a Garmin G1000 option: Cessna Aircraft, Diamond DA40, and Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90A -C90GT. Owners of King Air can also check out the Garmin King Air C90 G1000 website for tips on other upgrades available for your King Air C90.
Upgrades are becoming available for the G1000 to SVT; contact Mike at Woodland Aviation for specifics, details and availability: 800-442-1333.
The WAAS-certified GNS 530W and its slightly smaller sibling, GNS 430W,
lead the industry with multi-tasking, integrated avionics and
cutting-edge WAAS navigation. Both versions come with optional Class B TAWS alerting to
warn you of potential terrain and obstacle conflicts along your flight
path. The GNS 530W comes with built-in WAAS navigation capabilities. It is approved to fly LPV "glideslope" approaches without reference to
ground based navaids of any kind, and meets the FAA's standards for WAAS "sole means"
navigation - providing vertical and lateral approach guidance into thousands of U.S. airports previously inaccessible in IFR conditions. The powerful combo of the GNS 530W and 430W enhance the safety and value of your aircraft, too.
For Garmin GNS 400W/500W owners, upgrades for WAAS are available from Woodland Aviation. These upgrades include 5 Hz position updates, faster map redraws, fully
coupled and guided procedure turns and holding patterns, and increased
XM weather content. There is also enhanced functionality due to the WAAS LPV, LNAV/VNAV, LNAV+V, and LNAV approach capabilities. WAAS upgrades are also available for G1000; call us for details!

L3 SmartDeck Offers 3D Synthetic Vision and Highway In The Sky
|
|
L3 Communications new SmartDeck suite is fast, versatile, and user intuitive.
|
L3 Communications factory rep has been keeping Mike updated on the SmartDeck avionics product. The big news about the SmartDeck is it's designed to be both a retrofit product and an OEM factory install! That means Woodland Aviation can retrofit your round gauge aircraft to this exciting glass suite. The L3 SmartDeck has also been chosen as the standard for the new Cirrus Jet. More SmartDeck highlights:
- Pricepoint will be competitive with the G1000
- Already STC'd for the Cirrus SR22
- Slated to be the standard avionics suite for the Cirrus Jet
- Currently in production; 40 units have been produced
- L3 is also considering the Citation and King Air markets
- This product has more processing power and memory than other well known suites
- Will support both 3D Synthetic Vision and Highway in the Sky
- Supports dual redundancy on components
Highway In The Sky is a navigation system where the pilot inputs a flight plan (meaning the waypoints and desired nav route to your destination); this flight plan is graphically overlaid on the PFD as a 3D series of boxes plotting the course. Navigate through these boxes to your intended (inputted) destination. Click to their website for videos, brochures and pics!

Sandel SG102 AHRS, SN3500, SN4500 Installs
|
|
Sandel products are revered as some of the most popular and versatile instruments on the market today!
|
Sandel specializes in compact integrated display systems for general aviation, business aviation, air transport and regional aircraft. Currently, Sandel offers these advanced products:
· SN4500 4-ATI Primary Navigation Display · SA4550 4-ATI Primary
Attitude Display · SN3500 3-ATI Primary Navigation Display · ST3400 3-ATI TAWS/RMI All four systems use Sandel's exclusive patented
"light engine" display technology, similar to the displays found on the world's new military
aircraft. Featuring a high-reliability backlight, the advanced displays
provide true 180-degree viewability in both the horizontal and vertical
axes, along with higher contrast and sunlight readability than
traditional electronic CRT and AMLCD screens. Perfect for "space-challenged" panels. Woodland Aviation has installed Sandel equipment in many piston and turbine aircraft, with budgets large and small. Contact Mike for a consultation to see which products suit your needs. Reply back to this emailer or call 800-442-1333. Additionally, Sandel offers the SG102 Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS), which is a solid-state
three-axis instrument certified for primary heading reference. Pitch
and roll information is also provided for stabilization of other
equipment such as weather radar.
Designed as a plug-compatible replacement for the Bendix/King KG 102,
the SG102 is ideally suited as an upgrade for existing Bendix/King KCS
55A compass systems. A full set of heading outputs (XYZ, ARINC 429 and
RS-232) is also available to allow upgrade of other common directional
gyros. Weighing just over two pounds, the SG102 system also includes a
Sandel-designed sealed magnetic transducer (magnetometer) for
stabilized magnetic heading.
