Center for Social Policy

In December 2008, The Boston Foundation granted an award to the Center for Social Policy (CSP) to generate practical and timely information detailing the housing affordability problems for vulnerable, low income tenant households, including those affected by the foreclosure crisis.

By examining the impact of foreclosure and paying close attention to issues of race, gender and income, CSP's fact-finding research will also provide a rich picture of neighborhood dynamics and possible avenues for intervention.

CSP will generate a protocol or tool for widespread use by community organizations for their own community within and beyond the City of Boston to carry out neighborhood-level analysis and interventions.

More exciting news!
In January 2009, The Sociological Initiatives Fund awarded the Center for Social Policy a grant to generate ideas for improving the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program.  Results of CSPs analytical work will be used by the Housing Solutions Campaign, a coalition of 40 policy and housing advocacy organizations in Massachusetts, to increase MRVP resources and to advance needed reforms.
