Message from the Dean
Dear Colleagues:
I'm very pleased to announce that the Dispute Resolution Program, headed by Dr. David Matz, has elected to move from the College of Public and Community Service to join the McCormack Graduate School. This is our first new academic program since the school was founded, and offers exciting synergies with our Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs, particularly the international relations track of the MSPA. Welcome Dispute Resolution!
I'm also pleased to announce that we have successfully hired three new faculty, two for the Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs and one for Gerontology. Dr. Heather MacIndoe is a sociologist, comes from a post doctorate at Brown, and specializes in the dynamics of the nonprofit sector and social movements. Dr. Bille Gastic comes from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Temple, is also a sociologist, and focuses on analysis of education policies, particularly relating to student safety and school violence. Pamela Nadash, ABD from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health, specializes in policy-based research, particularly in long-term care.
On May 8th, at 6:00 PM at the Kennedy Library, Padraig O'Malley will be lecturing on his extraordinary experience convening multi-party conferences of Iraqis in Helsinki and now in Baghdad. This event is co-sponsored by the Kennedy Library; I hope you will join us.
