GETTING ORGANIZED IN 2010 - Organizing Systems that Work for You
TIPS, READS & LEADS - The Clutter Diet Credit Card Sleeves
Hello

Gavin SaluteThis week's newsletter will be short as we prepare for bone marrow transplant on Wednesday.  Had a quiet day getting things caught up around the yard, paying bills, cleaning house....didn't even take the car out once.  Today is Memorial Day and our grandson Gavin sends a salute to the servicemen, past and present, who defend our right to freedom.  God bless you for your service to us all.

Appreciating each day,

Shelly

GETTING ORGANIZED in 2010

Pick a System that Works for You

Different decluttering approaches work for different people and situations.  By picking a system that works for you, maintaining it will be easier.  Here are some ideas.

Frequency of Use - Place your most used items in spots where they are easiest to access.  For example store foods used every day on eye-level shelves, store pens and paper within reach of your chair.

Color - Sometimes arranging things by color creates instant organization and retrieval.  Separate family storage by color, choose a different color pallet for the bed linens in each room, sort clothes in the closet by color for easy coordination.

Season - Group seasonal clothes, decorations, or equipment together.  Store in labeled containers in out-of-the-way areas until needed.  In some cases you can swap out the contents of the containers; summer clothes come out - winter clothes go in.

Order or Theme - Alphabetize DVD's, store books by genre, file taxes chronologically.  Choose any order that makes sense to you for sorting similar items.

So simple......you can do this!
