Greetings
"Hot August Nights" has new meaning for me. I spent a hot August week in Houston Texas visiting with my daughter and her new Toy Yorkie puppy, Dixie. Temperatures were in the 100's, and then there was the humidity.... However, Tropical Storm Eduard forced an early departure. After 12 hours of delayed flights and re-routing through Austin, Denver, and Los Angeles to Sacramento, I'm more than ready to stay at home and start thinking about fall projects like our garage. Yippee for the 90's! Shelly |

Here's an easy way to store tall tools or equipment in your garage, shed, or craft room. Screw two heavy-duty eye bolts into the wall studs far enough apart to contain your items. Secure a bungee cord from bolt to bolt to hold the items in place. You might need two levels of bolts & cords depending on the height of your items, and be sure the cord is tight to prevent tipping over.

Hazardous Waste Recycling (Auburn)
Western Placer Waste Management Authority is sponsoring a free household hazardous waste collection event this weekend (August 23-24) from 8:00-4:00 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. This is such an easy way to get rid of your paints, cleaners, pesticides, batteries, etc. You just stay in your car and drive through - just like In-N-Out (well maybe not).
