What

Dear
Mr. Sharma. Just wanted to tell you that I find your newsletters quite
interesting. Sitting in Delhi,
one rarely gets to know what is happening in our profession in other
parts of the country. I am not referring particularly to this newsletter, but
about issues in general and developments that are taking place in the regional
media world. My best wishes to you.

Yogeshbhai,
My
felicitations on publication of the 10th issue of Media News Letter.
I have been avid reader of it. I must say that you are doing what our
journalist unions should have been doing, instead of collecting membership fees
and doing nothing to the real benefit of the journalists! Yes, the guys who are
managing notebooks for journalist's kids are doing a great job. This is small
but a great help. Itna bhi kaun karta hai? (May god fill their houses with
notebooks and banknotes.) In the latest issue of the newsletter, a mention of
media books and "dens of dons-fate of press rooms" piece reminded me
of a very controversial and thought provoking book by French journalist Serge
Halimi "Les Nouveaux Chien de Garde". (New Watchdogs) French people
have penchant for self-reference, hence they have media critiques in a very
obscure language.
The
writer Harshvardhan Trivedi has worked in UK
for four years was in France
for some months. Presently he is with UNI Ahmedabad. He has written an article on french Journalist Serge Halimi which will appear soon in the Newsletter.

Dear
Yogeshbhai,
Thanks
for the newsletter.
"Press
Rooms: Dens of Dons" was a very interesting reading. Some of my friends
who had a stint in London
also echoes the same. According to them, Indian High comissioner office in
London is like
our local Information Dep't office for the journalists.
Best
