Oh, ya-ya, for sure! Pinot Noir, no matter how you say it, is our favorite wine grape at The Vintage Shoppe. So we were intrigued to find out that Germany even produces Pinot Noir and then thrilled to discover that it is amongst the best Pinot Noir in the world. Germany exports only tiny amounts of Spatburgunder to the U.S. because the German people would drink it all. We are lucky to have 3 cases for you to try.
Meyer Nakel is located in the Ahr which is the northern most Pinot Noir region in the world known for intense juicy fruit, mineral-shaped velvety tannins, elegance and finesse. This wine combines raspberries, blackberries, violets and chocolate, with delicate tannins and smoke flavors that echo from the blue slate terroir of the region. It has great aging potential, but it is absolutely delcious now with a couple hours in the decanter.
