Well one bright spot in our economic meltdown has to be the great deals on incredible wines. It has made special occasion wines affordable regularly (if not daily as we recommend). This Super Tuscan comes from a tiny estate in the Southeast corner of Chianti region near Siena. Our regular price has been $34.99 for years. However, our distributor has decided to stop importing the wine. So cut that price 43% to $19.99 on your first bottle, and 49% to $17.99 on the purchase of (6) or more bottles of this wine. 8 cases left in CA.
Fontalpino Montaperto is a blend of Sangiovese, Alicante, and Gamay. Most of us balk at gapes we are not familiar with, but this wine has the flavors you like, trust us. It tastes like Brunello meets Barolo, with red berries, blueberries & plums that finish with cocoa and mineral notes. It is full bodied but not invasive, and has round but persistent tannins providing great structure. Pair with a wide variety of food from crackers and cheese, to a grilled NY strip.
