Healthy Thoughts/Healthy Actions Weight Watchers Newsletter #33 |

Hi Everyone!
As time and meetings have gone on this last year, more and more of you have become part of the Weight Watchers family, and specifically "my family", in that you receive this newsletter every other week. Almost 600 of you receive this, and hopefully gain some motivation, ideas, and laughs from it. I encourage you to use it as a forum to rant, if you need to, or offer recipes, questions, photos or other things you would like to see here. You make my job so much easier if you write to me, as I do not have to come up with all the ideas each issue.
And those of you who have been reading this and not coming to meetings, I hope this can be a constant reminder that we can make healthier choices every day.

MEETING TOPICS: WEEKS OF
FEBRUARY 22 AND MARCH 1, 2009
Those of you who are challenged at tracking will want to come to this meeting the week of the 22nd, as we will be exploring the alternative method of doing the program which frees you from being a vigilant tracker. This is a really important meeting for everyone, so please make it a priority to get here!
And the week of the March 1st we will be talking about the Stages of Change. This is a new topic I have never seen addressed at meetings, so it is a valuable meeting to attend for those of you who feel you've heard it all before. |

RECIPES FOR THIS ISSUE
Here are 2 recipes which probably would not be good in combination, but both are yummy treats which will satisfy the need for crunch, in the case of the first recipe, and the need for chocolate, in the case of the second...Enjoy!

Notes
You can use any combination of freshly chopped herbs in this recipe such as thyme, parsley, rosemary and/or basil.
This is my own recipe, which I am finding I am indulging in most evenings. Very satisfying!!
JANET'S INDULGENT HOT CHOCOLATE
Serves 1
Points 1
2 tsp Ghiradelli Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/4 eyedropper of Vanilla Stevia or 2 tsp Zsweet
1/8 c very hot water
1/2 c Vitasoy Plain Soymilk
1/4 c water
Place the cocoa powder, sweetner and 1/8 c hot water in a mug and stir to make a thick paste. Add rest of ingredients and heat in the microwave or on the stove until hot.
This makes a very rich, semi-sweet hot cocoa. Use more sweetner for a sweeter mix.

PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS
GHIRADELLI UNSWEETENED COCOA POWDER
This is such a wonderful product for those of us with a need for chocolate without points. Yep, It would take 3 Tablespoons of it to make a point, so you can easily use a lot less! Try making chocolate syrup to put over a non-fat frozen yogurt, for example, by putting a tablespoon in a cup, with your favorite sweetner, and mix in a teeny bit of hot water. Voila! Make sure you get the unsweetened (baking) version.
VITASOY SOY MILK
I have been drinking soymilk for years, and have developed a liking for it, but have always known it does not taste like regular milk...Until I discovered this one. I am amazed how close to real milk this is. I get the plain version, and it is delicious!
