Greetings!

With so much of our country experiencing a drought, we are reminded to make sure our friends are flooded when it comes to help and support.

  • Shower your friends with cards.  Getting mail is always fun, so enlist everyone to mail cheerful cards on a designated day.
  • Deliver a Beat the Heat Care Package to your friend, include popsicles, a fun fan, a visor or sunglasses, some sunscreen, and a note inviting your friend to lunch at a "cool" place.
  • Gardens and flower beds may be rather grim by this time.  Bring a little bit of green inside by giving your friend a potted plant or flowers.
  • If it has been too hot for your friend's children to play outside, everyone may be ready for a diversion.  Invite the children to your house for a fun movie afternoon, complete with popcorn.

It is rather amazing how extreme heat can cause people to hibernate.  Whether you send a card or an email, or post a message on your friend's WhatFriendsDo Guestbook, be sure your friend never feels alone this summer.

If your friend does not have a WhatFriendsDo team yet, we encourage you to set one up.  The site has a new Calendar that will make scheduling help for your friend easy.   Keeping friends informed through the Blog can cut down on numerous phone calls and emails.  The Guestbook can bring so much joy through encouraging words.  Pictures are always good to bring a smile.  If your friend is in need of financial help for unforeseen expenses, the Donations feature is a great help.  Set up a team today.  It's free and it's easy!

We may not be able to change that outcome, but we hope to change the journey.
