Greetings!

We all get so busy during the summer.  It is too easy to let time slip away without getting in touch with our friends facing major life challenges.
Here are five easy ways to let your friend know you are thinking of him/her:
  1. Simply send an email (right now!) to say "I'm thinking of you and wanted to let you know." A handwritten snail-mail note is even better!
  2. Fill a colorful sock with wrapped candies and leave it by your friend's door as a fun surprise.  Make sure you only include candies that will not melt!
  3. Make a dinner date!  You can call your friend to set a date to go to dinner, drop off a ready-to-eat meal or a gift card for a favorite restaurant, or have a meal delivered.
  4. Say it with flowers.  Stop by a nursery, or even the grocery, to get a potted plant and drop it off at your friend's house -  you don't even have to leave a note - anonymous surprises are always fun.  If you live far away, you can send a bouquet.
  5. Find something red, something white and something blue to drop off to your friend to celebrate July 4.
Keep in mind that no matter how busy your summer is, your friend's challenges might still be very difficult, and hearing from you might make a big difference.  Put a note on your own personal calendar (right now!) to remind yourself to check in with your friend.
