June 18, 2008

Greetings!

Today (June 18) WhatFriendsDo.com begins its second year of helping friends on the journey through a life-changing experience.  The past year has been amazing for us, and we have learned so much.

Sadness and Joy

The WhatFriendsDo.com teams are filled with so many emotions.  In the past year there have been celebrations of recovery, joy of new births, and excitement for moving into a new home.  There has also been sorrow for the loss of loved ones, the challenges of cancer treatments or overcoming injuries from accidents.

The saddest part of WhatFriendsDo.com is when we learn that a "friend" has lost their battle.  To all the friends and family members who have lost a loved one we extend our deepest condolences.  We are confident your friends are by your side through your grief.

To those of you who no longer need a WhatFriendsDo.com team because you have recovered - bravo!  We wish you well and continued good health.

Special Thanks

There are so many people to thank for helping us get this far.  We'd like to take this opportunity for a 'public' thank you to a few friends who have helped us the most - they have all truly been incredible models of what friends do!
  • Bryan, Jill and Kimberly for your many hours of input, ideas and enthusiasm.
  • Katie and Chris for your wordsmith-ing, suggestions and encouragement.
  • Cheryl for the butterfly.
  • Laura for your guidance.
  • Greg for the nuts and bolts!
  • The angels who helped fund the development.
  • To all our family and friends who inspired us, and did what friends do, as we created WhatFriendsDo.com.

Kindness gives birth to kindness.

Looking Ahead

We continue to be focused on making the WhatFriendsDo.com website a useful and user friendly tool.  Your input has guided us to make some modifications to our website, and more enhancements are coming!  We have lots of ideas and plans, so stay tuned for news of some additional elements of the WhatFriendsDo.com website in the coming months.  If you have suggestions, we'd like to hear from you!

Our other emphasis in the coming year will be in spreading the word about WhatFriendsDo.com.
We appreciate the help so many display and cards
of you have given in sharing the
site with co-workers, friends and family, places of worship, medical offices.  We're happy
to send you a display with cards if you would like to help promote WhatFriendsDo.com.
We might not be able to change the outcome of your situation, but we hope we can help change the journey!
