Home Study Classes Are Now Available
Is Home Study The Right Choice For You?
Many people prefer classroom instruction to Home Study.   We offer a variety of dates/locations for our "Notary Basics" and "Become A Notary Signing Agent" classes including new evening hours at Acorn Sales Company in Richmond, VA (10/17/07) and at the Women's Business Center in Springfield, VA (10/24/07).

homeIf you are pressed for time or are juggling work/home life and can't make it to a classroom course, our Home Study program may be the best alternative for you.   You will have a thorough Home Study program shipped to you including practice documents for notarization.

Included in our Home Study program is a one (1) hour voice consultation with our instructor, Bryce Hall.   We lead the way in Home Study classes that are informative and personal.  We don't ship you a training manual and forget about you.  We want to hear from you, answer your questions and ensure that you have the confidence to perform notarial acts.

We review practice documents and emphasize key elements of the Virginia Notary Law Handbook including changes that took effective 7/1/07.   Take a Home Study class rather than none at all.

Additional Home Study classes include "Become A Notary Signing Agent' and "Understanding The Mortgage Loan Signing".  Visit our Quick Links section for detailed class descriptions.

What Should I Do With My Embosser?
Can I Use Both The Inked Notary Seal And The Embosser?
Embosser
Prior to July 1, 2007 the notary's choice of seal was the embosser which makes a beautifully raised impression giving the document a very official appearance.

On July 1, 2007 Virginia Notaries Public were required to use a seal which made a photographically reproducible image when using a seal.   Thousands of notaries chose to order self-inking or pre-inked seals in a variety of shapes and sizes.   Since the Notary Law change we have repeatedly been asked about the continued use of the embosser.

We recommend that you use both the inked seal and the "traditional" embosser.   Keep in mind that a super photocopier can reproduce your inked seal making it difficult to choose between the original and its copy.

We market to our clients as "being in compliance with Virginia Notary Law (inked seal) and as a courtesy to our clients we use the "traditional" embosser on all notarized documents which, of course, makes the raised impression on the document an obvious original".  Continued use of your "traditional" embosser is a further deterrent to fraud.
