Bridge to STEM- Life Sciences Program Celebrates First Graduates
The Bridge to Stem-Life Sciences program recently marked its first group of graduates (pictured above). This program, funded by a Training for Tomorrow grant from the State of Missouri through the city of St. Louis, is a concentrated, one-semester, 16-week program designed to prepare individuals for Life Science Lab Assistant positions, offered at the college's Bio-Research & Development Growth (BRDG) Park.
Students have the opportunity to earn 19 college credit hours, six of which can be applied to the AAS degree in Biotechnology. The program offers a State of Missouri approved STLCC certificate of specialization in Life Science Laboratory Assistant. Students also earn a National Career Readiness Certificate with job-seeking and career readiness skills built into the program and provided by Better Family Life, a program partner.
Over the past year St. Louis Community College, as part of the first cohorts of five colleges, has been working with the Bio-Link's Bridge to Biotech (B2B) program as part of a Learning Community to study how City College of San Francisco's B2B program operates and to adapt it to the unique circumstances at their college.
To learn more about advancing your career with this accelerated job training program call the program the hotline @ 314-513-4961. There is no cost to qualifying students at this time to attend the program. |
