Rawlings Honored as One of America's Greatest Brands
American Brands Council bestows top award to Rawlings
Congratulations to Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, a five year client of the Center for Business, Industry and Labor for earning the top award recognition by the American Brands Council. Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Jarden Corporation was bestowed this honor by the American Brands Council in recognition for integrating its iconic brand with legendary product lines, sports marketing endorsements and sponsorships.
"To be recognized as one of America's Greatest Brands is truly the culmination of the outstanding effort, passionate dedication and unparalleled craftsmanship all Rawlings employees have poured into their careers and their products since the company's inception in 1887," said Robert Parish, President and Chief Executive Officer for St. Louis-based Rawlings. "The Rawlings brand and its iconic red patch are recognized by athletes around the world as symbols of quality, authenticity, innovation and performance, and our status as the official baseball and batting helmet of Major League Baseball drives that point home."
Most Valued but Underused Resource
What is the most underused, valuable resource in any company? It is typically the creativity and knowledge of frontline employees. How much knowledge and talent is left on the table in a typical company?
A study conducted by TowersPerrin shows:
  • 21% of employees are fully engaged in their work
  • 38% of employees are partially to fully disengaged
  • 41% of employees are mildly engaged

What's the impact of these levels of disengagement?  A recent study showed that companies with the highest percentage of engaged employees increased operating income 19% and earnings per share 28%, year-to-year.  During the same time frame, companies with less engaged employees experienced declines of 33% year-to-year and 11% in earnings.  Clearly, creating a competitive edge, vital in any economy but especially in today's, depends upon having a highly engaged workforce.

We can help you drive higher levels of employee engagement and, as a result, become a stronger competitor in today's hyper-competitive marketplaceContact George Friesen.
