Greetings,

The holidays are once again upon us. We have a couple of excellent articles and some good suggestions for coping with them from Helen Adrienne, LCSW, BCD. We hope you will enjoy Helen's articles as much as we do.

The next deadline for "Heart Scholarship" applications is midnight December 1, 2009.  We thought giving a few extra days to complete applications over the Thanksgiving Holidays would be helpful.

In this issue of INCIID Insights meet Kanke and Moses, permanent US residents originally from Nigeria, and Bobbi Jo and Joey struggling with infertility for 10 years.

If you are thinking about surrogacy and live close to the DC, VA, MD area, be sure to read Hilary Neiman's article on Maryland: A Surrogacy Friendly State.

Register in the INCIID Community Forums and find support and answers to medical (including early pregnancy) questions from our resident professional physician and attorney volunteers.

See the coupon at the end of this newsletter for a special holiday donation offer. INCIID will send you the beautiful hard cover book, "Taking Charge of Infertility" for a donation of $60 or more. See the details below. We thank Pat Johnston for donating these books to us and hope you will visit her publishing company, "Perspectives Press".
Check out our newly formed "Heart Teams" raising awareness on infertility and funds for INCIID programs.

If you have interests you would like INCIID to address, please take the time to write to us.

In Maryland, both gestational (a surrogate who is not biologically related to the child) and traditional surrogacy (a surrogate who agrees to be artificially inseminated with the intended father's sperm and to carry the pregnancy to term), is possible. Read the Article.
