EPA Solicits Public Comment on Permit to Reduce Stormwater Discharges from Construction Sites
FREE Construction General Permit (CGP) Webcast on Tuesday, Clean Water LogoMay 24 from 1:00 to 3:00pm Eastern to discuss the proposed CGP.  There will be time dedicated to answering questions posed from the webcast participants. To register for this free webcast, go to www.epa.gov/npdes/training. Public comment period ends May 25 on the extension of the 2008 CGP to January 31, 2012.
 
Waters of the U.S. Proposed Guidance
Public comment period ends May 18. Depending on the outcome, this guidance could play a significant role in future SWPPP design and watershed-based LID strategies. In the last E-Update, we were saddened to report that memberPatrick O'Shea Patrick O'Shea passed away on April 3, 2011. In this issue, we have additional information for members to contact his family. Patrick was vice president of Natural Environmental Reclamation Concepts, Inc. in Hanover, MI, an IECA and Great Lakes Chapter member since 1984 and a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control.
