IECA Past President Wins Wilkinson Award John W. Peterson, CPESC, of Burke, VA was the winner of the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) 2010 R.E. "Bobby" Wilkinson Award at the VASWCD annual meeting banquet in Roanoke, VA in December. The award goes to a Virginia District Director who has furthered the effective implementation of the Association's policies and the achievement of its program objectives through their unselfish acts and dedication to soil and water conservation. John is a past president of IECA as well as recipient of its prestigious Sustained Contributor award. He begins his term as president of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of IECA this year (where he is a past president as well.) IECA also would like to thank Chapter board member Ricardo Schmalbach of Geosolutions Synthetic S.A.for his generosity in donating the liner material for the reservoir for the SOIL Fund's Ecuador project. More >> Wood Appointed General Manager of Australian Boom and Baffle Company  The Australian Boom and Baffle Co. (ABBCo) has appointed John Wood as General Manager of their specialist manufacturing company. John will be responsible for ABBCo's sales and manufacturing. Prior to joining ABBCo, John worked for Maccaferri Australia, first as Product Manager of erosion and sediment control and later as Technical Sales Specialist. "John brings a wealth of experience to ABBCo, both as an erosion and sediment professional and a business leader," said Chris Alsop, ABBCo's CEO.
