Peters & Dixon Teach May 21 Webinar on Construction Site Stormwater ManagementBrock Peters, CISEC | Brock Peters and J.B. Dixon will teach you that compliance doesn't have to break the bank. With a change in mindset, many of the everyday problems on construction sites could be eliminated. Attendees will learn that stormwater management is part of all construction projects and they do not have to view compliance with disgust, anger, dread or resignation. Elements of Construction Site Storm Water ManagementDate: May 21st, noon central - PDH: 1 Members: $50; Non-Members: $65 REGISTER NOW >> Expert Chat June 8 with Steven PolkThis month's chat is Designing Post-Construction BMPs with Operations and Maintenance in Mind and is June 8, 1pm Mountain and 2pm Central. The Expert is Steven W. Polk, PE, MBA of Stormwater STL of St. Louis, MO. Steve has been involved in the engineering industry for more than 35 years, where he has been actively involved in the design, construction, monitoring and maintenance of stormwater BMPs. This Chat is open to members only. Details will be posted on the IECA website and sent to all members soon. Pacific Northwest Chapter Pioneers Training Efforts According to Sam Lamont, Alaska Board Member for the Pacific Northwest Chapter, the demand for training in AK is almost outpacing the ability of Private and Public sector efforts to meet the need. That's where the Chaper has stepped in to do what they do best - educate. Thanks to their joint efforts, the Alaska General Contractors, the Alaska Department of Transportation and the PNW Chapter can now boast that there are over 2,000 certified stormwater practitioners in the state. The PNW Chapter has sponsored classes in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kenai with a combined total of about 150 people being certified as AKCESCL's. In addition to the AK-CESCL training provided by Alex Zimmerman, Alex and Jennifer Hildebrand (Northern Plains Chapter IECA) have taught SWPPP writing workshops in the past year. The Chapter is fielding an increasing number of calls requesting additional training for the state. In response, the Chapter is hoping to schedule and sponsor CPESC and CISEC certification classes this fall. More details will be posted to the IECA website as soon as they are available. Way to go Pacific Northwest leaders!
