PROFILE Products' Employees Achieve Certification PROFILE Products LLC is pleased to announce that C. Michael Robeson, P.E., the company's manager of technical services, recently achieved certification as a Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ). Additionally, Andy Constantine is accredited as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
 Johnson Named Administrative Vice President of IECA Board of Directors IECA has announced that Board of Directors member Lee Johnson, CPESC will assume the role of Administrative Vice President of the Board of Directors effective immediately.

Riling Elected as Chapter Advisory Committee Chair IECA's Chapter Advisory Committee has elected Charles R. Riling, Jr.
as chair of the committee. Riling has been a member of the
Mid-Atlantic Chapter since 1997, where he served on the Board of Directors and currently is in his third and final year as the Chapter President. He has been on the IECA Chapter
Advisory Committee for the past three years.
 NC State Study Finds Better Way to Protect Streams from Construction Runoff Richard A. McLaughlin, Scott E. King and Greg D. Jennings report a better way to protect streams from construction runoff.
 Stan Brant, Jr. Appointed as CEO of Propex Holding Chattanooga-based Propex Holding, LLC has named Stan Brant, Jr., as President, Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Brant is a proven leader with experience as a chief executive, most recently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the company.
 PBS&J's Forester Creek Improvement Project to Receive Award The Forester Creek Improvement Project in Santee, California will be receiving a 2009 Project of the Year Award at the annual American Public Works Association (APWA) National Congress this September. PBS&J was the prime construction management company on this $25-million project.

Golder Acquires Denver Company Golder Associates has acquired the assets of Engineering and Hydrosystems, a Denver-based consulting firm specializing in hydrology and hydraulics, sediment, river engineering and design, reservoir and water supply management.

 EC10 Call for Presentations - May 15 Deadline!IECA is calling on presenters to bring the latest, freshest content from the field to the classroom for EC10 in Dallas, Texas, USA, Feb. 14-18. The deadline to submit abstracts is this Friday, May 15. Complete submission details are available on IECA's website. Recruit A Member, Receive a Gourmet Coffee CardIECA's member referral bonus program has been so successful that we've extended it to June 30, 2009. Ecuador Project Volunteers RequestedMembers - Here is your chance to assist IECA and Engineers without Borders (EWB) and combine your summer vacation with a working trip to Tsuraku, Ecuador. IECA would like to continue its partnership with EWB that began last year by assisting in the stabilization of a reservoir in a remote village in eastern Ecuador. (Check out the July 2009 issue of Environmental Connection for a feature story on this project.) Work in 2009 will focus on the installation of a potable water distribution system approximately 1/2 mile long, which will require substantial erosion control. Work will consist of evaluating methodologies, obtaining proper materials and guiding installation. Project kick-off will begin with the assessment team departing from the US on June 17th. IECA Announces Training Program Partnership with Wal-MartIECA has recently finalized details to partner with the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, to create an online version of its stormwater training program. Chapter News & Updates  Great Rivers Members Elect New Board Members Congratulations to the winners of the Great River's Chapter Board of Directors election: Sara Drake (Incumbent), Tom Wells (Incumbent) and Shirley Morrow.
 Vote in Mountain States Election by May 29 Mountain States members are encouraged to vote in the upcoming Board of Directors election. To read about the candidates, to access a ballot and cast your vote, contact IECA_MSC@live.com.
 New Jersey To Test Products The NJ State Soil Conservation Committee (SSCC) is teaming up with Rutgers University to test new erosion and sediment control products on campus construction sites. The performance of these BMPs will be evaluated by the SSCC, Rutgers and the Freehold Soil Conservation District. After a product has proven itself in the field, it will much easier to have it approved for use on job sites regulated by Soil Conservation Districts. Initially the program will be testing sediment control and inlet protection devices. Trials of BMPs for more demanding sites will follow.
All manufacturers are welcome to participate. To have products tested, contact Ines Grimm, Manager of the Freehold Soil Conservation District for details.
