Read how Chuck, of Carpinteria, CA, began his 11th Step Meditation Journey
"Before I started meditating my head had a million (or at least a dozen) ideas and thoughts going on all the time at once. It was very confusing and always led to a lot of starts with no finishes."
"I had my first session of Meditation in the Deaconess Hospital, on the Detox Unit, in Great Falls, Montana in July of 1981..."

September/2007 |
Greetings!
Welcome to our 2nd 11th Step Meditation Newsletter.
The Newsletters will be presenting a variety of ideas, article, products and stories to help encourage and deepen your 11th Step Meditation practice. In discussing the 11th Step, both the Big Book and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, suggest seeking help from other sources for this step.
"The actual experience of meditation and prayer across the centuries is, of course, immense. The world's libraries and places of worship are a treasure rove for all seekers." Page 98, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
Along these lines...Kevin Griffin, author of One Breath at a Time and one of the leaders of the mindful recovery movement, has a workshop coming up, October 17-21, Wednesday-Sunday, 4th Annual Intensive Buddhism and the Twelve Steps residential retreat co-taught with Heather Sundberg at Vajrapani Institute, Boulder Creek, CA. HERE'S THE FLYER!.
Also, I suggest that you check the "I Can Do It" event below. Hay House Publishing represents many of what I call the "Modern Masters" of spiritual growth. Teachers such as Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Joan Borysenko, The Hicks and many more can be found among their publications and events. They have all been inspirations to me along my spiritual journey.

Randy F.

| What are the 5 "P's" of an 11th Step Meditation Practice? |
How to approach this new discipline and practice?
Discover the 5 "P's" to further developing your Meditation Program as described below.
"Meditation is something which can always be further developed. It has no boundaries, either of width or height.Aided by such instruction and example as we can find, it is essentially an individual adventure, something which each one of us works out in his own way. But it's object is always to the same; to improve our conscious contact with God, with his grace, wisdom, and love."
pg. 101, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions originally published in 1952 by Alcoholics Anonymous Publishing (now know as Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.).

| Is the Higher Power "thing" keeping you from learning and practicing meditation? |
|
The miracle of the 12 Steps are that we can choose our own understanding of Higher Power!
Don't let this keep you from learning to meditate and from developing an 11th Step Meditation practice. A number of meditation practices and techniques do not include images of, or focusing on, a higher power. We will try to highlight one of these products in each of our newsletters.
Here is one of these type of programs offered by Centerpointe. They provide effective tools and techinques, which are not associated with a specific concept of Higher Power, to help get you started meditating. They offer free demo you might want to take advantage of!
Holosync induces the brain wave patterns of deep meditation. Users experience the same classic developmental and evolutionary mileposts as in a traditional meditation practice, but in an accelerated time-frame.
Using a sophisticated form of neuro-audio technology, Holosync produces many desirable cognitive, emotional, and spiritual states - states usually only available to experienced and dedicated practitioners of meditation. Click the banner below to exlpore Holosync in more detail and sign up for their free demo... |
