Dear Friends Over the years in talking to people about Africa, I have often been asked which the finest wildlife experience is that one can have on the continent. There are of course many contenders, each with its own special characteristics, but without question, few can match experiencing the wildlife and beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania followed by joining and tracking the great continuous migration on the plains of Serengeti. Most people have seen video footage of the spectacular river crossing of thousands of wildebeest that has now become the iconic image of that great migration. What few realise is that that is just one incident in a continuous annual migration that circles around the plains. While the river crossing is certainly spectacular, it happens just once a year in July/August and is a one-off event amongst many others. Those who know the area best believe that the calving period in February/March offers a far wider and more rewarding experience as new life is brought to the great plains. In my own personal experience there is very little that can match a visit that I made some fifteen years ago to see the Mountain Gorillas that live in the high forest that lies across the border of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That truly was a privilege. In response to requests that we have had to arrange such a Journey, I am pleased to announce that in association with a company who we know well and who are specialists in safaris in this region, we are offering a unique Magical Journey to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti in February/March of 2012, with the option of an add-on visit to the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. This is truly a unique opportunity to experience one of nature's most spectacular events. Because of the logistics involved in setting up a mobile safari of this nature the size of the group will be restricted to a minimum of six and a maximum of ten participants For detailed information about this Journey, please contact me on world@magicaljourney.org . Sincerely, Mark Hennessy
