Introducing the lovely, Dyan, one of our recent
Beginning Hoopdance Series (Level 1) graduates.
She's enthusiastic, determined, talented and has
officially inspired us to work just a little harder to make
our jumps look as effortless as hers do.
Q&A for Dyan:
HP: What does hoopdance mean to you?
D: Having a great workout and having a lot of fun at the
same time. It means learning to be creative all over
again. It's something that lets you have as much fun and
be as carefree as when you were a kid. And it's a great
way to meet new people!
HP: What's the most significant change in yourself since
you started hoopdancing?
D: The most significant change in myself has been my
self confidence. I felt like our class brought together a
bunch of great people who just wanted to have fun, and
it was really easy to set aside my inhibitions.
I didn't have to worry about what anyone thought of
me, because everyone was encouraging each other.
HP: What music are you listening to these days while
hoopdancing?
D: I think one of the greatest soundtracks to hoop to is
the "Go" soundtrack. There were some great mixes in
class too!
HP: Where is your favorite place to hoopdance?
D: Anywhere with a bunch of other people, (like class)
but if that's not possible, then my mom's backyard. It's
really big.
HP: What does "HooperPower" mean to you?
D: "HooperPower" means positive energy, confidence,
happiness, and feeling FREE!
