Identity and Power: This Summer with Teatro Americano
Last week signaled the end of Teatro Americano's 6-week Summer Theater Apprenticeships for 32 youth, wrapping up the summer with many wonderful performances of their original piece, including a showcase at the University of Chicago's new Logan Center and a debut with Chicago Shakespeare in the Park.  Many apprentices will stay with us throughout the school year, but there is still room for some new faces in the fall program. To see photos from this summer, and learn how to get involved, click here.
Giving Voice to Our Story with the Vocalo Project

Members of Teatro Americano can now be heard on the radio sharing their stories with Chicago! Thanks to a new partnership with Vocalo (89.5 FM), the youth in Teatro Americano are adapting their stories to monologues for radio broadcasts. The first two pieces feature Teatro Americano's Emmanuel Gutierrez and Martha Razo.  [Listen in]

Welcome, Nohemi!
This week, Nohemi joined the Latinos Progresando family as our new receptionist, helping LP meet clients' needs at one of our busiest times! Join us in welcoming her as the newest addition to our team, and in congratulating Araceli Dominguez, LP's receptionist for the past 2 years, as she transitions to become LP's newest caseworker.  [Meet Nohemi]
