Hundreds of Children Celebrate Día del Niño with Latinos Progresando
Dia del Nino 2012

Monday, April 30th more than 500 children and their parents came

out to celebrate Día del Niño, hosted by Latinos Progresando

at the Social Center at 2414 S. Albany in Little Village.

Día del Niño is a Mexican

national holiday celebrating children, and each spring, Latinos Progresando brings together children and families from the neighborhood to celebrate. This year's celebration included raffle prizes, healthy snacks, and fun with clowns, but also brought other resources to parents-schools and other service providers in the area came out to talk about their services.

Special thanks to Our Lady of Tepeyac Church, Burger King, Tri Color Masonry, Aguas Calientes, El Ranchero, Esparzas Restaurant (Blue Island), the Zavala family and a number of individual donors who made this event possible.
