Teatro Americano Performs in Little Village Theater  Fest
Teatro Americano Performs in Little Village Theatre Fest
Last weekend, Teatro Americano performed at the Little Village Theater Fest. It was the first time the Youth Ensemble and students from Castellanos and Madero Middle School performed together. Students from Castellanos performed poetic monologues promoting non-violence in the community, while Madero students performed skits regarding the negative impact of bullying. The pieces were created through class compositions, poetry, and open circle discussions. Other issues touched upon in the performance included the importance of voting, the DREAM Act, lack of communication among parents and their kids, environmental justice, and immigration... get involved this summer!
