Latinos Progresando wins award through the CCT's
Community News Matters program
 After considering more than one hundred local news project proposals for the Community News Matters program, on Monday the Chicago Community Trust Foundation announced that 31 winning proposals have been chosen, including a one submitted by Latinos Progresando. Award winners included individuals, nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies who proposed projects that will report on a variety of important issues affecting the city's low-income areas, writing stories on the South and West sides of Chicago. The main focus of the Latinos Progresando report will be on the effects of Mexico's Drug war on Chicago's Mexican Communities. |
Teatro Americano Presents at the U of C
Teatro Americano, Latinos Progresando's
theatre group, will be performing a compilation of work including their bilingual play, Con Raices Sin Papeles, at the University of Chicago's Office of Multicultural Affairs located at 5710 S. Woodlawn on April 15, 2011, 5710 S. Woodlawn. The event is part of the larger Dolores Huerta/Cesar Chavez Commemoration Week hosted by MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan), a student group in the College.
