ADVOCACY ALERT!
Advocacy Icon Congress Returns from Recess: Representatives still need to hear YOUR voice in opposition to the SAVE Act!

From our partners at the National Immigration Forum:

As Congress returns from their spring recess, the pressure continues for members of Congress to sign the discharge petition to bring the Shuler/Tancredo bill (a.k.a. the SAVE Act, H.R. 4088) to a vote on the floor of the House. If 36 more members sign the petition, the bill will go to the floor.
It is critically important that you keep your representative from signing the discharge petition.  We also need you to urge your representative tospeak out against the bill itself.

To contact Congressman Gutierrez, call (202) 225-8203

If you don't live in the Illinois 4th Congressional District or you aren't sure who your representative is, call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to be directed to the appropriate offical.

Here is an example of what you might say:

My name is __________ and I live in ________. I am calling to urge Representative ___________ to oppose the SAVE Act because this deeply flawed bill would punish legal workers and employers. The SAVE Act's hard-line and shortsightedly punitive approach will not fix our broken immigration system. Thank you.
