Pilsen Via Crucis this Friday
The
Via
Crucis (Living Way of the Cross) is a live reenactment of the
Stations of the Cross and such will be enacted throughout the Pilsen
neighborhood. The
Procession begins at
9:00am on Good Friday, March 21st
At Providence of God Parish at 18th Street and Union Street
The via crucis will proceed along 18th Street, finally ending with the enactment of the 14th
station (the Crucifixion) in Harrison Park
(18th
Street and Damen Ave.), before
proceeding to St.
Adalbert's Parish (1650 W. 17th Street) where Cardinal George will
lead a prayer service.

Latinos United is proud to announce the completion of our housing overcrowding study Bajo el Mismo Techo (Under the Same Roof), The Latino Community in Suburban Chicago: An Analysis of Overcrowded Housing,
to be released at a Housing Roundtable event. The Bajo el Mismo Techo
Roundtable is the culmination of Latinos United's efforts towards
forwarding an empowering and thoughtful housing policy agenda for
Latinos throughout the Greater Chicago area. This report provides a
summary of available knowledge on housing overcrowding and some of the
issues involved in policy development.

Scholarships Available for the 2008 National Conference for Media Reform
The fourth National Conference for Media Reform is
set for June 6-8, 2008 in Minneapolis, MN. The event will be an
exciting, inspiring three-day gathering for people who are concerned
about the state of our media and committed to working for change. The
conference will convene thousands of activists, educators, media
makers, journalists, policymakers and concerned citizens to discuss how
to create a better media system.
In order to maximize the range of voices represented
at the conference, Free Press has raised funds to offer travel
scholarships and registration fee waivers to offset attendance costs
for a number of individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend.

PAH-FEST is a weeklong, free digital media festival that has been traveling to cities throughout the US and internationally. People from all walks of life, ages 9 - 99, with stories to tell, are provided with digital equipment and a professional "helping hand" enabling them to create their own short digital film. PAH-FEST: Chicago offers participants the opportunity to discover "the artist within us all," and to provide entertaining, quality content to the general public. The finished work is posted on the www.pahnation.com online theatre, where the public and a pool of celebrity judges review it.
