This weekend, LP's College-Bound Youth Group held a retreat to discuss and plan college workshops for high school students, college visits, fundraisers and scholarship opportunities for undocumented students.  Participants included students from the University of Chicago, DePaul University, University of Illinois at Chicago, Big Picture High School, Whitney Young, Lane Tech, Kelly High School, Curie High School and St. Richard Elementary School.

Part-Time Parent Coordinator, Little Village Community Development Corporation

 
LVCDC is looking for a part-time parent coordinator to work with parents, community residents and the principals of two high schools; Infinity andWorld Language located on the Little Village Lawndale H.S. Campus. The parent coordinator will be expected to recruit and support parents,community members and the two principals in developing their Parent AdvisoryCommittees (PAC) and their Local Advisory Councils (LAC). Must be bilingual.

Fiesta del Sol Assistant (Seasonal: March 10, 2008 through September 12, 2008)

Assistant to Fiesta del Sol Coordinator must be bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) and be familiar with word, excel and access programs.  Assistant to FDS Coordinator will handle clerical duties as well as vendor contracts and permits, thus good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to follow up on projects is a must.  The FDSCA will also help manage our Fiesta del Sol and Individual Sustainers databases (updating, checking for accuracy, etc.)  Additional duties as needed.  This is a part time position with 15-20 hours a week, more hours as Fiesta del Sol approaches.
