A Message from our RE
You have elected me your RE. So what happens now? I promise to do the best job I can for you; but with 600+ members, that is a lot of opinions as to what that should be. Something to take into consideration, in my opinion, is that the RE is a representative. There is a nine member BoD that is the 'decision maker' of the region. The RE can suggest and guide but the BoD works as a whole to insure the running of the region. The BoD is varied in their program interest as well as their personal life and job relations. This gives different perspectives and balance to ideas. This region, though, is You-the member. The BoD can act only with the information it has to implement changes or direction. And again, with 600+ members that will not please all.
BOD@stlscca.org is where you can let us know ideas and thoughts you have. BoD meetings are open to the general membership. We meet on the second Monday of each month. If there is something you would like to discuss let me know and you will be added to the agenda. Along with this, please give ideas as to how this can be done and what time you would be willing to lend to gaining this goal. The BoD has commitments just like you and cannot do it all. Remember that this is your region as well as ours!
Having been to the MiDiv and National conventions, I can say that the STL region is fortunate to have strong programs that maintain themselves. I have met Regional Executives that literally run the entire region.
I will post notes like this both on the forums and the website to keep you posted on happenings within the club and how it relates to you.
Thanks again for electing me!! Diane F Prokopf |
