Expanding Adult Education to Quincy
As part of our new strategic plan, the Adult Education program is planning to pilot a new English class in Quincy in 2012. Special thanks to the State Street Foundation for their grant for this pilot. For more information, contact Russell Fenton.

Immigrant parents gain parenting skills
Twenty parents learned about cross culture parenting issues including discipline, communication and nurturing in a workshop series offered by Family Services. Chinese immigrant parents gained more confidence in raising their children in the US. |

Harvard Business students create art to benefit BCNC
Special thanks to the Asian American Business Association (AABA) of Harvard Business School for hosting its first Artjamming Charity Auction, where talented students created paintings that were auctioned to members of the AABA community. The event raised $770 to support BCNC! |
New tutors begin assisting students
The Adult Education Volunteer Tutor Program hosts quarterly trainings to train native speakers to become volunteer ESOL tutors so they can help our students to improve their English. Twelve new trained tutors began working with ESOL students. Contact Anna Fan to become a tutor.

BCNC hosts Kindergarten registration
Twenty two BCNC families attended the Boston Public School Kindergarten Pre-Registration Session at BCNC. Families were thankful for the onsite service with a Chinese speaking registrant. |

Youth Swim Team looking for new members
The BCNC/Quincy Community Center Youth Swim Team is open for tryouts and registration. Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is open to all boys and girls, 17 years old and younger. Contact Andy Murray or Jason Morrison at Swim.Team@bcnc.net or 617-635-5129 x1086 for more info. |

Helping to feed low-income families
As a part of the City of Boston's CAN SHARE program this year, BCNC is collecting canned food donations at our sites to go to Ricesticks and Tea, a local food pantry serving low-income Asian immigrant and refugee families. Youth leaders also had a bake sale and raised $150 to go directly to the food pantry.

Giving Thanks Together
Families, children and staff of the Center for Early Education and Care celebrated the holiday season with a luncheon feast. The Youth Center had its annual Thanksgiving dinner for 60 youth, thanks to the youth leaders for organizing and thanks to staff for helping to cook!
