Panelists included Professor Soo Hong from Wellesley College and author of "A Cord of Three Strands," Joanna Brown and Marilyn Adames from Logan Square Neighborhood Association in Chicago, BCNC Director of Family Services Yoyo Yau and BCNC parent Wen Qiu Liu. The Youth Center, the Jubilee Project and Allies Working with Asian American Youth collaborated to showcase the unique voices of Asian American youth. Family Services Director Yoyo Yau presents on

BCNC presents at Parent University   

BCNC Family Services offered workshops on Raising Children in Two Cultures and Help Your Children to be an Excellent Math Thinker at the Boston Public Schools Parent University fall session. These workshops helped over 30 parents to learn practical parenting knowledge and skills, experience the math learning environment in schools, and share different ideas with other parents.

The Youth Center
started a new leadership program at Charlestown High School through the support of the Hyams Foundation. Chinese English language learners will gain leadership skills to effect change at the school around school climate and bridging differences.

Improving Chinatown Park   

BCNC is proud to support the installation of new furniture including tables and umbrellas for the Chinatown Park along with the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy and Chinatown organizations and residents. BCNC hosted a reception for members of the Red Envelope Circle, supporters of BCNC who demonstrate their leadership and commitment to the community with an annual gift of $500 or more. Attendees heard from former BCNC youth participant Emily Weng. Emily shared, "The most important life lesson I learned from BCNC was to give back to my community."
