Senator Kerry and Mayor Menino Visit: Youth Showcase Technology
BCNC showcased Digital Connectors, a youth leadership program on technology and media funded by Comcast and One Economy on February 18th. Bamboo Circle Kick-off
Sixty-five young professionals kicked-off the newly formed BCNC Bamboo Circle on February 8th. The Bamboo Circle represents young supporters of BCNC who are committed to strengthening the local Asian immigrant and Asian American community. Chinatown Master Plan 2010 on display at MIT Museum
The Chinatown Master Plan 2010: Community Vision for the Future that summarizes Chinatown's history and vision for the future is now on display at theMIT Museum until June 5th. To celebrate its 150-year anniversary, MIT organized the MIT150 Exhibit to showcase the best contributions by MIT community members. Six MIT faculty and alumni collaborated with community members to develop the Chinatown Master Plan 2010. BCNC was the fiscal agent and integral supporter of the master plan work.

Tufts Medical student to work with BCNC young women
The Youth Center is excited to welcome Hyejo Jun, a Tufts medical student, to work with the Girls' Values program this spring. The Girls' Values program aims to enrich the social and emotional development for Asian American girls ages 11 to 16. Hyejo Jun received funding from the Tufts Tisch College Civic Engagement Fund to work with BCNC.

Early Education staff receive training
Fourteen teaching staff from BCNC's Center for Early Education and Care received training on Food Safety, Nutrition, and Allergy; Oral Health; and Documenting Children's Science Learning in the Classroom. Teachers also visited the Children's Museum to gain inspiration from science and early childhood exhibits to extend science learning to the children. |

BCNC Swim Club continues Strong Swimming
Members of the BCNC Swim Club, part of the Recreation and Fitness program, competed in the New England Swimming Regional Swim Meet at Salem State College. Swimmers Gwen Liu, Ethan Liu, Kenny Wen, Kevin Zhang and GouQuan Liang each swam personal best times as well as finishing in the top 16 of an event. Eight year old twins Gwen and Ethan Liu finished with an impressive combined total of 13 first place finishes. The swimmers are proud that their hours and miles in the BCNC pool have paid off at this important swim meet.
