Peaceful Pandemonium

I am trying to find peace in the pandemonium. I am a recovering alcoholic with 15 years of sobriety. I am also a newcomer to a 12-step program centered around food addiction.

I am at a time in my life where I am determined to change.

"Our results were nil until we let go absolutely."

I'm tired of nil...it's time to let go.

...on 'new beginnings'

"For all its usual destructiveness, we have found that fear can be the starting point for better things. Fear can be a stepping stone to prudence and to a descent respect for others. It can point the path to justice, as well as to hate.  And the more we have of respect and justice, the more we shall begin to find the love which can suffer much, and yet be freely given.  So fear need not always be destructive, because the lessons of its consequences can lead us to positive values.

"We shall have to try for all the freedom from fear that is possible for us to attain.  Then we shall need to find both the courage and the grace to deal constructively with whatever fear remains.  Trying to understand our fears, and the fears of others, is but a first step.  The larger question is how, and where, we go from there."  p. 11-13  The Best of Bill

Beginning a new life can be frightening...starting over is scary...being plunged into the unknown, entering new territory can cause fear in the hearts of those that journey there...it is my belief that is why so many of us relapse or turn back to the drink and drug in early sobriety...it is more comfortable (believe it or not) to return to our former lives...it is all we know...sometimes sobriety can look impossible, or all too difficult for us...we feel as if we are doomed and the odds are against us...fear of change and taking a hard look at the truth stare us blankly in the face when approaching a new life in sobriety...this is why the fellowship of a 12-step program holds therapeutic value for those seeking help and salvation from addiction and alcoholism...some extreme cases may need treatment, in order to have their heads cleared before accepting what we have to offer...many find the courage they lack in the hearts and minds of those that have gone before them

My Intention

Everything's in motion
though still they seem to be.
It is the intention
of a grand soliloquy.

Oneness is self-serving
to the stubborn and obstinate.
Like turkeys head bent in the rain
they drown a ignorant.

It is my intention
to lose all my constraints,
of where and how I will end up
with sinners or with saints.

Intention was and always is
a spiritual emanation,
of energy and particles
marching in procession.

Pebbles , fish, beast and man
related purposefully,
intention has but one goal
to bound us soulfully.

So my intention is to be
in this celestial scheme,
letting go my ego
finding my wildest dream.

The Law of Attraction

Positive ThinkingHistory And New Beginnings

by SRINIVASAN GOPAL

When mankind started realizing there was more to life than just surviving, philosophy was born. Philosophical and religious ideas began forming. About this time, the idea that we could control our lives with the energy of our thoughts started taking hold. And this idea has never lost its appeal or its believers. We are what we think. It's a concept almost as old as time itself. From Hinduism, Buddhism, ancient Greek philosophers to modern day religions, this same belief has been taught.

The name of this idea has changed over the centuries. It seems like every other generation feels the need to change it. They feel like it's essential to make the idea something new and original in an attempt to attract new believers.

In the last two centuries the prevailing terms have been "positive thinking" as well as the "Law of Attraction". Both terms have had their popularity.

The Law of Attraction was brought back into popularity with the 2006 film "The Secret". Christianity has maintained the same term for it throughout its lifetime. Christianity teaches it as the "power of prayer".

Regardless of the name, the basic concept could be the same. You ask for something, truly believe (have faith) you'll get it. And last but not least is belief that you deserve to have it.

The fact remains you could come up with an abundant life, and you also don't need to be lucky, or happen to be born with the right genes or even come with an Ivy League education. You also don't work yourself to death each day that you awaken. You don't have to do something that you hate just to survive.

You can do well. You need to prosper.

For this to occur, you must know you deserve it. You need to feel it inside your gut. In addition, you must know certain ways concerning how to bring the ideal into reality.

Although everyone handles hyperhidrosis differently, the same universal law applies to provide an abundant life. It'll manifest itself uniquely to your identiity just like a musician is likely to certain musical laws but creates their own unique sound and style fitting within those laws. Creating an enormous life's not about staying in the identical level because the Joneses.

Whatever you call it, teaching yourself to have positive thoughts and believing you're deserving of good things can only result in positive gains in your life.
